1.Draw around your hand in your work book. On each finger identify a surprising event in this story. Make a note in the palm of you hand about what you enjoyed most about this story.2. Identify the characters who need to be included in a production of a play to present the Magic Garden 1. Draw two circles on a page in your work book. In one circle identify the things that seem quite probable and in the other identify what seems like fantasy.2. Who will be the leading character? What parts of the story have to be included in your play? 1.Draw a hamburger on your page. Use the top of the bun to note what your introduction will be.
List five fillers that you will use to review this story. On the bottom of the hamburger bun write a brief conclusion.2. Prepare a script for a play and work out what props you will need
1.Look at your notes and check to make sure that you have identified the main points that you need to make.2. Look at your play and decide whether you have incorporated the main points. Will your play effectively present this story? 1. Prepare a review of this story that you can present to your class.2. Present your play to the class. Reflect on how your presentation was received by the class. What do you think you need to do differently next time.

Mathematical

I enjoy working with numbers & science

Locate Kasakhastan on a map of the world. Use a map to work out the shortest route from Australia to Kasakhastan. Calculate the distance from Australia to Kasakhastan.

Visual/Spatial

I enjoy painting, drawing & visualising

Spend some quiet time and imagine scenes from the Magic Garden that would would look good on the pages of a picture book What text and details will need to be included on the page? Design a page that might appear in a copy of the Magic Garden. In collaboration with another person decide which of your concept drawings will have the most appeal to the identified audience. Create a cover for the parable of the Magic Garden. As a class compile a book of pages that depict the Magic Garden Prepare a survey and ask five people evaluate how effective your book.

Kinaesthetic

I enjoy doing hands-on activities, sports & dance

Community gardens are small plots of land allocated to groups of people by some organization that holds title or lease to the land, sometimes for rent, sometimes simply as a grant of land.Research and find out about a community garden near you. In Melbourne, for example, there is one near the Rushall train station. What unique features does the garden of your choice have? Who runs it? What is the history behind this garden? Research and find out about the Vietnamese community garden at the rear of Hoddle Street Collingwood. What specific elements of this project build a sense of community among participants. Design and establish a community garden plot for your school, a plot that would enable people from the community to participate.Birds are unlikely to do all the work for you so work out the process you will follow to establish this garden.   Using publisher, create a poster advertising a market stall.Set up a small market stall and sell produce from your garden to other members of the school community.

Musical

I enjoy making & listening to music

Use a template of the world to show where Kasakhastan and this old folk story originateFind out as much as you can about Kasakhastan culture and lifestyle. Research and find out about the instruments and music of this old country. Make an instrument. Put together a small collection of Kasakhastan music.   Complile a collection of music and put it on a CD. Design a cover for your CD and be sure to include interesting information about Kasakastan in your inserted brochure.

Interpersonal

I enjoy working with others

As a group work out what a collaborative collage depicting the Magic Garden would have to include. Split into groups. One group might make the trees, another might make the birds, a third might make the gates and a fourth might make the people. Set yourself up with all the art supplies and create your part of the collage. Collectively work out where the pieces need to go on the whole collage. Glue all the parts in to place and present your collage.

Intrapersonal

I enjoy working by myself
